"Bear Tales" Fire Circle
The Evanston Rotary Club constructed the “Bear Tales” Fire Circle to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Rotary International. “Service Above Self” 1905-2005
The “Bear Tales” Fire Circle project is an outdoor classroom/amphitheater located in a natural setting along the banks of the Bear River and adjacent to the River Walk main trail. The Fire Circle is a gathering place for school groups, community groups, organizations and tourists to enjoy the beauty of the Bear River Greenway. It serves as an interpretative location that focuses on educating groups on natural resources, nature, and environment issues, cultural and historical aspects of the Bear River, the City of Evanston and the State of Wyoming.
Reservation User Policies:
“Bear Tales” Fire Circle (Max Occupancy Approx. 100)
No refunds will be issued for reservations that are cancelled due to weather or other reasons. Credits may be given.
The Fire Circle is available to use by the general public at any time. Reservations are recommended and take priority.
No Fires are allowed without a Reservation and must be authorization on this Facility Use Permit.
Fire Wood: No gathering or cutting of firewood is permitted anywhere on the BEAR Project. Fires are only permitted in the Fire Pit. Groups must provide and carry in their own Fire Wood. Fire Wood may be provided when requested, if available and stipulated on the permit.
A Cleaning & Damage Deposit may be charged depending on the activity as determined by the Director.
Deposits will be returned after inspection of the Fire Circle area.
Groups that are authorized to build a fire are Responsible to Fully Extinguish the Fire before leaving the site.
No cooking of any kind is permitted in the Fire Pit or Fire Circle Area. Hot or cold beverages are permitted
No Glass Beverage Containers are allowed in the Fire Circle.
No Alcohol Consumption is Permitted in the Fire Circle or Picnic Area. The City Open Container Law is in effect.
There is no electrical power available. Use of an electric generator must be approved on this Facility Use Permit
A Portable Rest Room is available to those using the Fire Circle on the North side of the Debbie Smith Bridge across from Hamblin Park.
The Fire Circle may be used one (1) hour before Sunrise and one (1) hour after sunset, no later than 11:00 p.m. Hours may be extended if approved in advance and authorized on this Facility Use Permit.
Walking access is only available to the Fire Circle from the BEAR Community Center & the Debbie Smith Bridge across from Hamblin Park.
No Motor Vehicle access is available. Special requests must be approved by the Director on this Facility Use Permit.
Facility Use forms must be in the possession of the person in charge at the time of the activity.
Any misuse or damage to the Fire Pit, Fire Circle seating area, adjacent areas, grounds and structures, and any costs associated with repairs, replacement and excessive cleaning of the area after any activity will be the responsibility of the applicant/person responsible, as named above.
Reservations are approved for use of the Fire Circle only and do not include sole use of the any other BEAR Project facility.
Any “Special Use” of the Fire Circle or adjacent areas that is not specified and approved on this form, is not permitted.
No Bikes, Skate Boards, Roller Blades are Permitted in Fire Circle Area.
